Great vacuum March 12, 2010

We thought our older Hoover model vacuum did a decent job cleaning up after 2 cats and 1 Lab until we purchased this Bagless Hoover Windtunnel. OMG! The suction power of this vacuum is amazing. We saw how much trapped dirt our old vacuum was missing. I was concerned from other reviews, that our area oriental rugs would get "sucked up" or damaged from this vacuum; but there is an easy height adjustment lever that allows us to adjust to all types of surfaces. This unit does a good job picking up dirt from hard surfaces (the roller brush on our old vacuum would blow the dirt out the backside). The attachments are great and stored on the vacuum for easy access. The canister holding the dirt can be easily removed for disposal. The only cons for this vacuum is the electrical cord is not as long as our old model the unit is quite heavy. After much research; including Consumers Report, we are very satisfied with our decision to purchase this vacuum.

Wish I would have bought this sooner March 11, 2010

We have a Bernese Mountain dog that sheds a LOT so his hair is everywhere. One of the biggest challenges was that his hair would "stick" to our area rugs. My old vaccuum didn't have good suction so it wouldn't pick up the hair if I used it upright. Instead I would have to get on the floor and use the hose. It would take hours to vaccuum just our first floor. When I got the Hoover, the big test was to run it over the area rug to see how it handled the dog hair. It picked it up in seconds! I had the entire rug done within minutes. This task used to take an hour. Using this vacuum has save me so much time. I also really like the red and green light which let you know that it's picked up all of the dirt.

Holds a lot for a bagless March 9, 2010

After two uses my new vacuum is already in the shop. The brush quit working and I've returned it for warranty service. br / br /Positives: br /It seems to hold a lot more dirt than other bagless vacs without losing suction power. br /The filter is pretty easy to clean including its own cleaning system. br /Easy carrying handle for when you're using the hand tools. br / br /Negatives: br /It is relatively heavy. br /It has a flimsy on/off switch. br /No way of turning off the brush if you just want to use implements br /No self-retracting cord (must be hand wound up) br /A short hose for the hand implements not long enough to reach cabinets, etc br /Brush motor/belt/something undetermined already broke br / br /Overall, a very unsatisfactory vacuum considering price and that it's advertised as the "anniversary" edition. I expected a lot better of Hoover.

Great vacuum for the price March 4, 2010

My wife is thrilled with this vacuum. She's amazed by how much embedded dirt lint is being pulled out of what we thought were pretty clean carpets. We've only owned this for a month so we can't vouch for reliability, but for $160 this seems like an excellent value thus far.
