A Dust collector, for some reason dust loves this item. Very
flimsy and unreliable. I wish I looked harder for a better

The shelf itself was really nice. but there were no directions for assembly and it had many missing hardware peces that iha t og oto the store and pick up mysef. i told them and i was suposed to get a refund and i never got the refund.

I am not totally happy about this purchase. I trust the picture shown and didn't measure the sizes (height and length). So it was my fault no to check it before making the purchase. I thought it was bigger and broader, so I couldn't imagine that all my CDs, books and DVDs wouldn't fit in it, so I will probably have to buy other cabinet (a bookcase, actually). I just chose this instead of other I saw in other company (IKEA, I think) because the shipping was easier and cheaper and the price overall was better than the other one. But if you only wanna store your CDs in an organized manner and you have less than 200, go ahead...

Purchased at a local big box for around $40. It went together quickly, but fell apart the moment I put DVDs on the shelf. I don't mean the self fell down, I mean the entire thing collapsed. The screws stripped out of the holes that hold the top on, the sides fell over and the screws ripped through the bottom of the sides, you get the idea. Currently strapped together with several strips of duct tape and will remain intact if no one looks at it funny. Very very disapointed.

We had this old, broken little book case that we were using to put all our dvds in. It was falling apart and did not match any of the decor in my apartment. So, I bought this because it was simple, cheap, and would do what I needed it to do. Also, I bought it because my apartment is small and this was small enough to fit where I wanted it.
There are good and bad things about this unit.
The Good -
- fits into small spaces
- easy to put together (took me about 10 minutes.. although I love putting together furniture, always volunteer to do it, so I've gotten pretty good at it.. but really, it was very simple)
- simple look
- ordered it on tuesday evening, it arrived on thursday morning! fast shipping.
The Bad -
- not sure how sturdy it is? it will definitely hold dvds and cds, but I wouldn't put anything too heavy in it. I haven't tried it so I can't say for sure, but I just personally wouldn't use it for more then dvds, games, cds, and other light weight items.
- since mine is sitting on carpet, it is a little wobbly. also, the back is just cheap particle board. (this can all be easily reinforced.. I don't know how but that's what my carpenter fiance said haha)
- you have to take out 2 shelves if you want to store ONLY dvds/games. the extra 2 shelves will go on but only leave enough space for cds, unless you lay the dvds down instead of stand them up. (doesn't really bother me since I didn't need those 2 extra shelves anyway)
The other comment I have is I notice the price keeps changing every few days. I battled back and forth for about a week decided if I wanted to buy this. I'm glad I did because now it's about $20 more than what I paid! I would keep an eye on the item if you are going to buy it and wait for the price to drop, and when it does, snatch it up.
I would definitely buy another one if I needed more DVD storage, but I don't. I wouldn't pay more than $40 for it though, because you could probably find something else.
All in all though, I am glad I bought it.
