3 out of 5 stars Works very quietly, innaccurate humidity control   September 3, 2010
A. Hynes
We purchased this de-humidifier based on price and ease of moving, since it can live in the guest room until guests arrive, then quickly be taken to the basement.

Pros:

It's very quiet
It doesn't add too much to our power bill per month (between 10 and 20 dollars)
On max, it sucks a good amount of water out of the air

Cons:

It fills up fast on high
It warms the room its in by about 5 degrees
The fan runs even when the its not removing water from the air
The humidity sensor is very unreliable. Ours doesn't run, even when the humidiy is in excess of 75%, despite being labeled in the 50s and 60s. The only way we've found that it works regularly is to either have it set to "ON" or to have it powered down.

Overall, it meets our needs, but it would have been 4.5 stars if the humidity controls were accurate.

4 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Good   September 1, 2010

Great machine. Proved to be well worht the cost.
First time with a dehumidifier. My basement smells much better!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent   August 30, 2010
M. Kwiatek (St. Louis, MO)
If I was rating based on the amount of water this collects it would get 10 stars! Easy to use, collects a lot of water and easy (enough) to dump. When it's full I do end up spilling a bit of water but I'm very pleased with my purchase. We purchased this dehumidifier because we were getting spring tails in our bathtub. Spring tails are attracted to humid locations. So we set this up in the laundry room under the bathroom and voila, no more spring tails! I don't have a gauge to know how much the humidity has decreased but I'm very pleased with the lack of bugs in my bathroom :)

5 out of 5 stars Probably the best on the market. Very quiet.   August 29, 2010

I am pleased with my purchase.
Very well designed. Very, very QUIET comparing to other units on the market. Controls are easy, simple. Unit lack programming (on and off time) and it runs all the time unless maximum water level switch turns it off. It has a drain hose connection (hose not included). I am using it without drain hose; not so hard to empty water bucket. In addition, it is interesting to see how much water ended up in the bucket. It really performs as designed. When humid, it keeps my house at 50 -51% humidity level. When you turn it on, in just a several minutes you will see Hygrometer i.e. humidity meter (buy it at eBay for up to 10 bucks) showing reduced humidity. It has a handle and it is easy to carry it around.
It is great for the basements. My smelled, as you can imagine. Two nights later and three buckets of water later it reduced moisture to 52%. It does not take more then several hours to reduce 75% humidity to 55%. The basement is rather cold even in summer, unit does the work regardless.
The price was modest, $165, free shipping. Be patient and wait for this price. I will buy another unit to use it in the basement all the time.

5 out of 5 stars Works Great! Much quieter than my last dehumidifer!   August 22, 2010

I have nothing but good things to say about this dehumidifer. My old one was way to loud so I decided to get a new one. I am very happy with mine. I would really recommend this. The price is great and so if the product.

I live in Florida and could not live with out it!
