For about 70 bucks this item isn't bad at all. Powder Coated Black Wired Finish sets a nice contemporary feel to it. Footing is adjustable which is good since a full shelf tends to lean a bit on carpet flooring.

Bought this for my son's room, wanting something to both hold his current music and movie collection, and to allow for future growth. This definitely does both. When all 8 shelves are installed, DVDs do not fit on all shelves. To use it for DVDs on all shelves, you'd end up with a leftover shelf. When I assembled the unit exactly as pictured on the front, however, all 8 shelves fit, leaving the lower 2 and top 2 for DVDs. Assembly was simple - exactly like the larger shelves made of this same material. Very happy with this purchase.

I've read about half of the reviews submittes so far & I agree with points in several & a couple even were the same point I found with this item. First, the price is GREAT! The capacity is okay. I am using this unit to hold mostly VHS tapes in plastic "library" cases & DVDs. When I got the unit assembled, completely without tools - once I figured out how the little shelf "clips" were supposed to go together & work, it was an easy process. The instructions coud have been a bit more text & a little less illustration. That is a negative-point of this unit; those little clips seem flimsy to me. With the limitation of the length of the corner "tubes", I was only able to make this unit 6 shelves with the spacing I needed. I have sent an e-mail to the manufacturer & if I on't receive a reply in the next couple of days, I'll call. I think I could add the full length of the "pole" & have a tall 8-shelf unit. It is in our living room & was filled very quickly with blank VHS tapes, some empty "library" cases, a few paperback books, some older videotapes we have recorded over the years, and a few DVDs. When we get the unit ammended, we intend to attach it to the door-frame & possibly the radiator cover on either side of it. We don't have little ones, but I think it could tip, wen I add additional shelves vertically. I wish I had purchased this unit a few years ago, before I purchased the fixed-shelf media racks I did, which are out in the hall. This unit holds a lot more, plus, with setting shelves to my requirements, it holds the "library" cases. It's a small mater of about 1/2", 2 of the fixed shelf units won't hold the "library" cases. I feel like this unit is well made, except for the shelf-clips. The finish seems durable & it's attractive. I was surprised how light the box was when it as delivered.
